TRAVELING SALESMAN, 2021

  It is an old, worn case that is filled with different unusual items. Some of them seem extremely dangerous, like mercury eye drops that make the eyes appear to glisten with happiness. Other are products that would be really useful, like a wand that can reheat the food while it’s still on the table. And some items seem familiar, like a portable music player that can play your favorite record out in public. Evidently, back in the early 1950’s, when my grandfather was a young man, he went door to door selling items marketed to women that would help keep her marriage healthy and happy.
