Through sculpture and digital media, my art endeavors to share my passion for all things whisky that was brought on by my father. While alcohol is a common element of social interaction, most people do not know the craftmanship that is involved in its production, nor do they understand its historical influence on society. My art can be entertaining, such as in Making Whisky, which is a digital stop motion film showing how whisky is produced or address issues such as women’s rights in Isn't She Congenial bar where the issue of misogyny in alcohol advertising is explored in an interactive way. My art’s inspiration strives to help people understand their relationship with alcohol and its context within social norms. For future works I will be exploring the relationship between my American and Scottish heritage.
